Bro I don’t care if half of my screen is ads. Why daily limit of 4 to force a subscription?

This a great app - it keeps me sane while trying to keep track of how things are split.

This used to be a great app but now they got greedy and keep trying to get you to sign up for the premium version that of course nobody is willing to pay monthly for (if it was something I could purchase once okay)

Not easy to figure out. Better prompts needed

Free version got worse and worse. Bad enough to watch an ad between entries but the daily limit makes it worthless when trying to catch up on expenses during a trip. And if anyone settles up nearly all data is gone. I’m moving to Venmo.

I’ve used the app for years to split expenses and really like it. A bit clunky to initially set up a group but once one is done pretty easy. Just went on a trip with a couple of friends and one used the app to pay me back. It took his money immediately on 3/29 but as of 4/5 I have not been paid. Splitwise has the money and it shows “pending”. My other friend transferred the money through Zell and I had it within minutes. Feels like Spiltwise is playing the “float” with my money. Do not use the app to settle up.

I put in 4 expenses in and deleted them. I tried to put them back in and I was denied because I had reached my maximum even though I deleted them.

Love the app, hated when they started the paid model. Try generating revenue thru ads and not thru monthly subs fee. Limiting to 3 transactions a day is not helping at all.

Really interesting, but having just few categories and impossible to add more so no correct categorisation of the expenses

Works great for our family. Used it for years without any issues.

Splitwise is great until people pay using splitwise payment to pay you back, which I don’t have set up. So it forces you to get an account with them to get your money. But that requires photos of your ID and social security card, which I really don’t want to do. If I don’t have it set up, it shouldn’t be an option for how people can pay me. It’s frustrating and awkward to tell people I’d prefer another way.

Splitwise is useful, especially for groups of 3 or more, for tracking and evenly dividing group expenses, making it easier for all to equally share & pay group expenditures. What could be better: 1. Navigating within the app. The current layout & menus can be confusing. 2. Make it possible/easier to permanently erase individual transactions, groups of transactions, and group or entire histories from one's account. Legacy info can "bleed into " more recent activity & throw off calculations, making the app ineffective at its main job. 3. Offer users an option to permanently delete their account, & permanently erase ALL data associated with it.

Trying to figure out how to pay people is tedious and confusing! I connected my card and cannot use it.

I have been using Splitwise for several years now to split costs with housemates and I can’t understate how useful this app has been. Just really makes things easy and clear between people.

Splitwise is easy to use and track expenses with friends and family. You can also see the history even after you’ve settled up. I am enjoying the app 😊👍🏻

To desperate to monetize. Venmo has it free. Easy to move there

Not a free app anymore. Can’t submit more than 3 expenses without pro. This is a google sheet simplifying algebra, why are we paying a subscription

Some of the money owed to me isn’t being split properly and now I’m not getting paid. A simple spreadsheet works better than this

Another once great app that has fallen victim to the subscription plague. Instead of simply asking for a one time purchase for a service, they charge a rather absurd price to do math

I’ve been using this app for a few years now. My friend and I travel a lot together and this is so easy to use and so easy to keep track of our expenses. I make everyone who travels with me download the app. I highly recommend it.

I love using Splitwise and I have upgraded to the Pro plan. I just wish there was a friends or family plan option.

Been using this app for years it’s perfect for group trips to make sure nobody gets weird about that round they paid or something they weren’t at haha definitely recommend!

Good app— super useful. Was thinking about paying to avoid ads because it’s useful, but then they limited the number of expenses I could add in a day. The frustration from that has basically guaranteed I will never buy this app. The pain of needing to try again the next day or switch to a spreadsheet anyways killed all the goodwill.

7 day trip to chamonix. And Splitwise can’t figure out how to settle across everyone even when u turn on simplify. Don’t use it - they just want u to upgrade to pro!.

With every new update, a feature gets lost behind a paywall. I’ve been using this app for 5 years—I use it for splitting bills and I attach a receipt photo/pdf to each expense. I don’t use any other feature. The receipt photo/pdf feature just went behind a paywall—it’s priced at $5/m or $40/yr to add a receipt photo.

dont download, theyll make it a pain to perform any transaction

Please please look at your account carefully and how you use payments or receive payments. Using splitwise to distribute money is not user friendly and they ask for questionable documentation to prove identity, almost like it is a scam. No way you can contact them live and responses are on a huge delay. Not worth it as it was initially a great convenience but now more of a hassle.

Card processing doesn’t work and by extension it is impossible to instant pay anyone through the app with my Visa or Mastercard. This has led to multiple overdrafts and multiple fees of 28 dollars from Splitwise as a company. Almost as if it’s designed to squeeze every penny it can by taking advantage of its users. If you are looking for a way to buy now pay later or settle accounts through friends DO NOT USE THIS APP or else you should expect to pay them more money then the very debt you owe to them.

Exceptional app, super useful and reliable, also can be accessed from a computer browser, and if you ever need the pro version like when on holidays, it’s very cheap.

This used to be a solid, easy to use app. Now it’s basically dark patterns trying to get you to upgrade to the paid version at every turn. They now limit you to 5 expenses per day (previously was not the case) - it’s basically useless now for big groups. I understand people are trying to make money, but it’s really lazy when they actively make something worse in order to try to annoy the customer into spending more money.

not intuitive to use

I keep accidentally clicking off the page where I am adding the expense and then if there is a new contact in there it gets deleted with the expense so I have to redo the whole thing

I use Splitwise for all of my group expenses. It’s convenient and a very easy organizer for all your transactions. It’s also a great reminder for your debts and credits with friends.

With no option for family share it makes no sense for 3 or 4 family members to pay for the subscription. Unusable due to this and no feedback from developer so we will use Splid

Can only add 3 transactions per day in the free version, even with watching an ad before the third one. Used to be a great app. Switched to a competitor now.

Used to love this application several years ago. Now they severely handicapped functionality unless you pay an annual subscription. Wait though ads to add an expense and reporting is no longer clear. Will switch to an alternate application.

Can’t believe the free tier only allows 3 expenses per day. I could understand something reasonable like 5-10 but 3 is just inane.

no, this premium thing has become a plague on the App Store. It used to be that you could put as many expenses as you wanted to with some ads in between them, which I’m fine with. Now you can’t put more than three expenses per day or else you have to pay 50 bucks per year for a stupid app that does math that I could do with a calculator. Immediately deleting the app and going to the competitors y’all are stupid.

I’m sorry- I can’t get it to do anything. I can’t find where to add things or send or whatever. No user friendly for a 72 year old!

This app used to be feature rich, but now you can’t add more than 4 expenses per day unless you upgrade to Splitwise Pro. Will be looking for alternatives.

Don’t pay thru the app. Takes days to get to the person if it makes it at all

This app does all the math! This is THE BEST APP & so easy to use!
